Newman Chiropractic helps patients with chronic and recurring back pain in Salisbury, MA and across the North Shore. Instead of quick adjustments that wear off, we find the structural cause and correct it with a program that combines chiropractic adjustments, non-surgical spinal decompression, Class IV laser, and focused shockwave, tracked by your Spinal Health Score. Care is out-of-network, your first visit is $97, and programs are priced from standard insurance rates with a 15-25% courtesy applied.
The real problem
Why does my back pain keep coming back?
Most back pain gets treated like a symptom. You stretch, you rest, you take something, maybe you get cracked, and it eases up for a while. Then it returns, because whatever was pulling your spine out of line was never actually corrected. Recurring back pain is a structural problem, and structural problems need correction, not another reset.
That is the difference in how we work. We figure out what is really driving your pain, build a program to correct it, and measure the change with your Spinal Health Score so you are not back in the same spot a few months later. If we do not think we can help, we will tell you that on day one.
What we look for
What is actually causing your back pain?
Back pain has a handful of common structural causes, and the right fix depends on which one you have. That is why we examine and image before we recommend anything.
Disc problems
A bulging or herniated disc pressing on a nerve, often behind pain that radiates or will not settle. Frequently relieved with non-surgical spinal decompression.
Joint and alignment issues
When spinal joints lose their normal motion, the muscles and nerves around them take the load. Targeted adjustments restore the motion.
Posture and desk strain
Long days seated load the lower back and weaken the muscles meant to protect it, so the same ache keeps returning.
Old injuries that never healed
Strains, falls, and sports injuries that left scar tissue and changed how you move. Laser and focused shockwave help here.
Our approach
How do you relieve back pain for good?
Corrective care is built on measurable progress. It starts with a two-visit evaluation: a real history, an exam of how your spine moves, and imaging so we can see what is actually going on. Then we recommend a program with a defined number of visits and a clear goal.
We use the tools your case calls for, not a one-size protocol: chiropractic adjustments, spinal decompression, Class IV laser, and focused shockwave. We re-measure your Spinal Health Score as we go, so you can see the change instead of taking our word for it.
Your first visit
What happens at your first visit?
Your first visit is $97. The evaluation runs across two visits, with a dedicated case review in between, so nothing gets rushed and your recommendations are built on real findings.
Visit one: your exam and your story
We start with what is going on, what you have already tried, and what you want to get back to. Then a real exam of how your spine moves and where the pain is coming from, with imaging when it is needed.
Behind the scenes: your case review
Between visits, the team reviews your findings in detail, so what we recommend is based on your data and not a quick guess in the room.
Visit two: your answer and your path
You will know exactly what is going on, what it will take to correct it, and what the investment looks like, before you decide anything. If we are not the right fit, we will tell you that too.
Common questions about back pain care
Can a chiropractor actually fix chronic back pain?
Often, yes, when the cause is structural, which most chronic back pain is. The key is finding the real cause first. Your two-visit evaluation, including imaging, tells us whether corrective care can solve your case. Not everyone is a fit, and we are honest about that up front.
Do I need an MRI or surgery first?
We X-ray every new patient and review any prior MRIs. Most back pain does not need surgery, and corrective care with non-surgical decompression resolves many cases that looked like they were heading that way. If you do need a referral, we will tell you.
How long until my back feels better?
Most people feel a change in the first week or two. Lasting correction takes a full program, usually around three months, customized to your condition and your goal. We track it monthly so you can see progress, not just feel it.
Do you take insurance?
We are out-of-network, which means we do not bill insurance for your care. Our programs are priced from standard insurance rates with a 15-25% courtesy applied, and every program is priced upfront so there is no open-ended tab. We provide superbills for additional out-of-network reimbursement, and we accept HSA, FSA, and CareCredit. Your first visit is $97.
Is this just temporary relief?
No. The whole point is correcting the cause so the relief holds, not masking the pain until it flares again. Your Spinal Health Score tracks the underlying change, so you can see the correction, not just feel better for a day.
I have tried chiropractic before and it did not work. Why would this be different?
A lot of patients come to us after visit-based adjusting that only chased the symptom. Corrective care is a different model: imaging, a defined program built around your goal, advanced therapies when they help, and measured progress along the way. See how we work on our chiropractic care page.
