The Story

Why Dr. Jeff built Newman Chiropractic the way he did

Dr. Jeff grew up in Salisbury. He graduated from Triton Regional, started college in the nursing program at Salve Regina University, and realized fast that nursing treats injuries after they happen. He finished his degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry, then went on to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic, the first chiropractic school in the world. He came home to Salisbury to build the kind of practice he wished his own family could walk into.

For years, Newman Chiropractic ran the way most offices do. Short visits, one-size-fits-all care, and little time to dig into what was actually driving a patient's pain. Patients got relief, but too many of them stalled short of real correction.

So the practice changed how it works. Longer visits. A team-based approach, with doctors and health coaches supporting each practice member at different points in their care. Multi-modal tools under one roof: spinal decompression, Class IV laser, focused shockwave, and nutrition. And a way to prove it is working: the Spinal Health Score, a number combining range of motion, X-ray findings, orthopedic testing, and functional movement, updated monthly. If the score is not moving, your care changes.

Dr. Jeff no longer adjusts day-to-day. He is the Clinic Director: he oversees every patient's care and reviews every Spinal Health Score update. Dr. Jake handles daily adjusting. Alyssa leads patient journey and outcomes (she tracks every patient through their program). Lorena runs admin operations. Hailey runs the therapy bay, supporting patients through decompression, laser, and shockwave sessions. Outside the clinic, Jeff and his wife have four boys between them. He works out, golfs, and skis, and loves watching his boys find their passions and invest the time and effort to get better at what they love, whether that is sports, music, school, or art.
