methods & techniques
Chiropractic Manipulation
The high-velocity, low-amplitude (HVLA) technique is among the oldest and most frequently used chiropractic techniques. Most chiropractic clinical research shows its efficacy in the treatment of low back, mid-back, and neck pain.
Diversified technique is the form of high-velocity, low-amplitude thrust that is traditionally associated with chiropractic manual adjustments/manipulation. For this method, Dr. Jeff uses his hands to apply a short (low-amplitude), quick (high-velocity) thrust over restricted joints (one at a time) with the goal of restoring normal range of motion in the joint.
Chiropractic training & experience allows the doctor to accurately locate joints with reduced motion. The patient’s body is then positioned in specific ways to optimize the manipulation of the joint. It is only performed when patient is aware and consents to that style of treatment.
Activator Methods
Activator Methods® established in 1967 is one of the most widely researched chiropractic techniques and the only instrument adjusting technique with clinical trials to support its efficacy. It is currently the most widely used low-force chiropractic technique in the world.
It is the perfect tool to help those patients that may be apprehensive about Chiropractic treatment since it does not add any twisting or bending movement to the joint.
Cox Flexion-Distraction
Cox® Flexion-Distraction technique is a non-surgical, doctor-controlled, hands-on spinal manipulation performed with the patient lying on The Cox Table, our proprietary, specially designed chiropractic instrument.
This table permits the effective administration of flexion-distraction and decompression adjustment and manipulation.
McKenzie Method
The McKenzie Method® of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) is an approach that focuses on the patient and their potential to self-manage and recover their previous level of function.
It's common for musculoskeletal pain to be affected by everyday activities, movements, and postures. After a thorough history and examination, specific movements and postures are performed and repeated. How your symptoms and range of motion change with these repeated movements and positions allows us to better understand the nature of your problem.
Based on this information, we are able to prescribe you with specific movements unique to your condition that you will perform at home. By learning what movements and positions to avoid, MDT educates and empowers patients with the ability to self-manage their musculoskeletal condition at home without constant need for medical intervention.
Graston Technique
Graston Technique® is a manual treatment that may be utilized to aide in the treatment of various injuries. Stainless steel instruments are used on fibrotic tissue to treat soft tissue lesions with the necessary depth and pressure to affect the condition.
Once tissue dysfunction is identified by the doctor the Graston instruments help to break up scar tissue so that it may be absorbed by the body.
Dry Needle Technique
For generations Acupuncturists have been using needles to help with a wide array of health conditions. Dry Needling Technique is different than Acupuncture. It is the process of a certified physician utilizing the tool of the “needle” and inserting it in to trigger points within muscle tissue. The needle will then be pistoned, twisted, or receive an electric current for no more than 30 seconds. This process causes controlled microtrauma to the affected tissue helping the recovery process.
Digital X-Ray
Like a Digital Camera, our X-rays can be viewed within seconds. This technology helps initiate treatment day of initial exam by making sure your treated with the safest and most specific treatment methods.
While X-ray is not required to begin treatment we do find that it helps us be safe & accurate with treatment, along with helping the patient visually understand what is the source of their ailment. This in and of itself helps us wrap our head around realistic goals and how long it should take for you to meet them.
